Will you refuse to buy (or even read) Uncanny #500 if Jean isn't in it? |

If a good old boycott is what it takes, will you go that far?

I haven't been keeping up with any x-books lately, even my rock that was once Ultimate.
Is something big supposedly happening in #500? |

I don't see anthing beyond Cyclops reorganizing the X-men on a permenant basis in a post MC world happening in UXM# 500 but i'll still buy/read it.

I haven't been buying comics, so I won't be getting UXM 500. When Marvel decides to use Jean again, I will return as a reader. Until then...

The only comic I pick up is Ultimate X-Men, and we'll see how long Jean lasts here (at least she has--or has been on the precipice since I've been on
this board for the past 2.5 years).
Otherwise, to the newer folk here on this board. I'm pretty much out of comics in general (I call myself the "Caveman" as I only started reading about Jean-related work after a veeery long hiatus). I thought End of Greys just a sadistic read when I pored over it at my local Borders one day and vowed not a penny more to the Uncanny title (felt they didn't do Jean's parents justice in appearance or characterization). Caveman
I'm in love with the little red-headed girl!

That is what he had done. Unless he's willing to allow those to be fixed, and fix what happened to Spider-Man (not much of a fan, but this guy was such an arrogant #+$+@ about it), I'm boycotting Marvel as long as he's in charge. I'm not even seeing the movies (although Iron Man doesn't look that impressive to me anyway). |

I've only recently started collecting X-Men comics again after a couple of years. There're just two things that'll cause me to drop them,
permanently.
1) The realization that they'll never bring Jean back. 2) Bringing Jean back, but not doing it right. It's the second I dread the most. We'll see what happens. Although her returning in #500 might be asking a bit to much, as there's a lot going on. Sticking in Jean's resurrection is a little bit much. That's something that should be dropped down while everything is relatively calm. Not in the middle of some other commotion. The end result of that would be like Spider-Man 3. Trying to jam two different storylines together and make them one. It's not going to work, and will detract from both. Better to wrap up the consequences of Messiah Complex, first, have some breathing room, and THEN begin working to bring Jean back. Give each story the attention and care they deserve, rather then mashing them together in an awful rush job of a story. Unabashed Scott/Jean fan since the age of 6 (And a sad Scott/Jean fan since 2001). |

I'm not buyin' 'em now! And what is so big about Uncanny 500? Can you provide details other than it being the 500th issue and following Messiah
Complex? And what is the new story arc?
By the way, as far as I can tell, she's not on the cover: Uncanny 500 cover

It's just that being such a key number, and Jean's not in it really pisses me off, in addition to me being pissed about what's already been done to
her.

Maybe it's because it's in black and white, but all the female characters look the same to me. And I think I see two Storms. Three of those chracters
look like it could be Jean, to me. I need to see it in color. lol

Colour would help. I can only identify a few characters and from what I'm seeing they mixed old and new characters.

Cyclops isn't on the cover either, which is odd. Well, there is one guy who looks like he might be wearing a visor. But he's flying, so that rules
Cyclops out.
Edit: On second thought, it may be him, as it looks like he's wearing a rocket pack. ... Why in the world is he wearing a rocket pack? Unabashed Scott/Jean fan since the age of 6 (And a sad Scott/Jean fan since 2001). |

It seems to be part of the "new" Cyclops, militant, dumping his love at her grave, and has a jetpack. Of course the defense of this would be, "You don't like change." That's bull. You don't change things, "just because". They have to make sense. These are sudden, out of character, and are just because some people think they're cool. That is a cheat to the readers, just like what happened to Spider-Man. |

I'm just briefly checking my mail on a Saturday evening, and I read what you've just written above.
As far as the Bring Back Jean campaign goes, I am, as a mod. as well as a diehard fan, seriously open to suggestion at this point. I'm so moved by what you've written I'm going to ask you something in PM. Caveman |
