Okay, the dots below just confused me.
And I'm really not holding my breath. Not unless something like a skrull who could adapt to the phoenix force, and that's who is in the WHR. |

A cynical part of me thinks that could be Jean.
There are two ways they could bring her back either in a big Jean/Phoenix oriented event or mini-series like Endsong or like this in the middle of a random story arc. The first is probably what you want but in all honesty that has been done once for her. Besides the other characters that have been recently revived have all come back in the middle of a story not a massive event. And they are still around. Also it would be the perfect misdirection since we've been begging for a phoenix event for her return and they bring her back but Q-boy won't spring for a big event. I personally wouldn't care if they brought her back in this fashion..even with the continuity errors as long as this story is interesting. And so far it doesn't seem interesting. All that said..its probably a Skrull..lets face it.

I would love it to be Jean, but I think she'd get alot more hype and attention if and when she does return. That would be BIG for the X-line. I dont think
they'd have her overshadowed by Secret Invasion . From a marketing standpoint, it wouldnt make sense

That is about as bull**** as you can get. The supposed skrulls really are? They just show up in the spaceship? You call that secret? This is outright insulting our intelligence. See why I'm boycotting Marvel right now? |

You know, I just read an article recently that contained something intriguing about people's perceptions of Secret Invasion. I'll be damned if I can
locate it now, but am gonna keep tryin' 'til I do. Almost positive it was an interview with Bendis himself, the madman who orchestrated this
crazy-@$$... WTF... AND... possibly far-reaching game-changer. Whoever it was, they said that everybody is assuming the Skrull impersonators replaced
their targets at one given point and time, then continued their charade indefinately. But no one figured on the devious shape-shifters slipping in and out of
character, sort of speak. The implication was this, some of the infiltrators could have been assuming the same identity at isolated and/or multiple
periods in the given history of their victims. In other words, somebody say like... Jean Grey, could've still been replaced at any given point
permanently... been replaced only once for a set time, to complete a paticular mission perhaps, OR, and this is the BIG one... been replaced
at SEVERAL various times during her rather tumultuous past. Now for me, that provides a whole different spin on the concept, and allows for some
breathing room, especially where Jean's concerned.
Can anybody else confirm they've read or heard about this. I don't know, maybe it's not THAT big a deal, but I think it's kinda significant. For all I know, everybody's known 'bout this for a while and it's been talked to death already, lol. |

Oh yeah! Let me just point out, that even though I'm ever the optimist, my gut tells me the Phoenix floating around in SI #1 is NOT our Jean Grey...
she's a stinkin' Skrully. Being a realist sure does prevent disappointment, but it's a sad and lonely place to be, lol.

Unfortunately, it doesn't mean that Jean Grey will, definitely, be coming back, though.
And as for your theory, you're not the only one who would have been unaware that it has been under discussion already, if indeed it has. I would believe that most people agreed with the original theory you provided, myself. I think the second theory has very interesting possibilities, in any case. |
