Well : from my mum's mouth:

Wai - consistent
Ton - handsome

Now these may not necessarily describe me, they are just qualities that Chinese folk (well, hey, everyone really) wish upon their kids. Each syllable of my name "Waiton" is one specific word (as explained above) and most Chinese names are created with a combination of two "qualities" and either can be read separately as in my case or the two words may mean a specific thing in conjunction eg. I had a flatmate whose names "chun-ju" meant "spring pearl" so her parents may have wanted her to be as beautiful and serene as a spring pearl (although she wasn't quite what they'd hope would turn out : hehehe... )

And my surname "Fong" is just a name. I don't know if there's any meaning to it.

Some Chinese friends of mine had a Christian name (like Chun-ju was also named "Judy") at birth but I ended up with only the phoenatic translation.

Seeyas.
