and God didn't make any junk!

Tis very true. (well, I would like to know why, say, Osama and Hitler had to come about, but.....it is not mine to question why, and is totally off subject).

I know nothing about the law, so I have no idea how they battle will be fought. It's looks like the movement is going in the direction of being fought on a state by state basis, with the Mass choice and all. Will there be a Roe vs. Wade type choice that makes it a federal mandate? I don't know. Socially, is it going to take a Dr. King type of crusader to come about? And will they have to be sacraficed to really get everyone's attention? It'd be such a shame.

But back to the law, I am a bit of a states rights person, to a degree, but I do think there are some issues that are federal matters. I have no idea which marriage would fall under. But since Preachers, Clerks, etc., grant marriage by the state of xxxxxxxx, I am thinking it falls under a state matter. But is that a bad thing? I would think most states would follow suit with Mass...so I think the results would be very similar. But, like I said, I know little about the guts and fine points of law.

I think two things are certain, 1- I think the battle has defiantly started, I think his is the new big social issue. 2- The fight for gay marriage has just started, and I think it will be very hard, and very up hill in this country.

Just saw a Law and Order episdoe on this matter. Well, on marraige and adoption. It actually mentioned my home state, Florida, because we have the most strict laws prohibiting gays to adopt. (Catch 22- Can't adopt because not married, can't marry, so can't adopt.)
My thoughts? Every citzen should be entitled to the same rights, it's a free country. In my typical semi-pessimistic attitude, I think this quote fits "Let them marry, why shouldn't they be as miserable as the rest of us."
