Bard - It is true that blood is thicker than water, and by genetics a parent will more likely feel a greater bond and duty to a child made of their own flesh.

But there's plenty of parents in the world who treat their own flesh and blood like sh*t. Mothers who kill their babies, fathers who pimp out their children.

Is better for a battered child to stay with biological parents that mistreat him/her or live with a family that bears no blood significance yet gives love, safety, and support?

Blood ties may be stronger, but they can be broken too.
