Hah- mother nature not working fast enough for you, Void? Quick, everyone grab a pitchfork and raid your local nursing home or Grannie's house. Don't sweat, they'll be gone soon enough and we'll all be left to ourselves. :helpme
But don't forget, the old people die and we might be lopping off the most backwards thinking layer of our society, but people also tend to become more conservative as they age. I think each generation does over all before more progressive, but I think there is a retrograde effect, more of a three steps foward two steps back effect. but......on the other hand I think the steps are occuring at much much much faster pace recently. i always think of how things were 100 years ago and just can't belive women were just starting to wear skirts at a shocking ankle length. even 60 years ago things were so different. 40. 20. 10. 5. 1. last week.

Well, back to the issue- since Void brought up democracy, what does everyone think about having a popular vote on the issue? how does everyone feel about judges legislating from the bench?

and does anybody know what laws, in exact terms, exsist surrounding marriage? any on the federal level? or are most on the state level? (wasn't something actually passed in like '95 or somewhere in Clinton's years that "protected" marriage?)
