Here is my stance on this...and this might be offensive...but I've had to deal with this sh*t being shoved in my face...so tough t*tties. Anyway, I am not a religious person. But I do have a deep and moving relationship with a higher power (be it God, Buddha, or Cher)...so why should I have to live MY life according to someone else's beliefs? I do not define marriage as being between a man and a woman. If two people LOVE each other and want to be united...to me they are married. Just person you don't believe in it...doesn't mean I shouldn't have to right to be "united". Don't call it "marriage" then...call it something else. But no matter how you slice it...it's marriage. There was a fabulous bit in an issue of "The Advocate", and it really capped out how I feel. All these people are screaming and crying that marriage is sacred...but we have idiots like Britney Spears and My big fat Fiance making a mockery of the apparent sacred event. Britney said is was a "joke"...and reality TV has people marrying for money. Like the article stated, these people aren't pro-marriage....they're anti-gay. And bend the rules to fit what they want. And that is bullsh*t.
