I would have to agree with Link on this one. I do think, when one begins the discussion of what marriage is (just m/f, or is it any two consenting adults m/m f/f), they are going to have to be very careful on how they open the doors. including age and the polygamy issue.
the way polygamy is often practiced make women into breeding machines living on kiddie farms waiting for their night and taking turns on the chores. and many of the men who pratice choose wives that are 14 and sometimes less. and i do believe inbreeding occurs rather often. if everybody has the same daddy....
let men cheat on thier wives the good old fashioned way. come on, that's a classic american value your messing with there. at least the wife has the sole title and doesn't have to split up allimony between two or ten other hoes. :b

I don't know about the land of the free getting square, I think it's in the process of being de-squared. we're just stubborn and don't like being pushed into anything. i think the arguement of "but they are doing it in europe" is meant with some hesitance. sure, our existance has been 200 years of corruption, but compared to europes thousands were still novices. and as novices and childern normally are, we resent the idea of being told what to do and too stubborn to take advice. But like good parents, Europe continues to give us dirty looks and even slaps us on the hand. and will probably spank us before too long.

but, yeah, people who can't stand the water should move to Europe or Canada as Link suggests. if you can't stand the heat.... ;)
