The only experience I've had with polyamorous pursuits is that song by that band and some goofy MTV Sex Special with Kurt Loder, who is not a pleasant man to look at. :p

Gay marriage being equated with polygamy? I have a problem with that. It's apples and onions. Gay men and women wanting to get married are promising to keep a monogamous 2-person relationship. It's just that the opposite gender is in put into the equation.

Polygamy is a person wishing for cake, pie, and Edith, too.

Fenix raises a good point. Polygamy seems like a surefire way to increase the chances of inbreeding. (Seems like I heard recently about a family in Utah coming under fire because a 27-year-old man with a couple wives already under his belt also intended to marry his 13-year-old first cousin. Ack!)

Bard - It's cool that other cultures embrace or legitamize polygamy even up to this day. Bully for them! :)

But the United States of America? One to one seems rule of thumb. You could have as many spouses as you want, just one at a time, please. (Utah wouldn't have been granted statehood if the Mormons hadn't agreed to give up the practice of polygamy if I recall from college history classes.)

If 3 people want to have a triangle relationship, I wish them luck because just dealing with 2 egos in a relationship is more than some people can handle! :o
