I also know that blatantly effeminiate gay men are put in traditionally female positions (those bottom low paying positions). They do work like human resources, nurses (who are much less money than doctors, etc.)

In corporations, high level positions tend to be staffed more so by mails. (there are exceptions, some women like Carly Fiorina, CEO of Hewlett Packett, rise to the stop).

I can personally attest to the fact certain names on a resume will almost certainly assure that resumes will end up in the garbage.

Then again, the art of hiring means you must fit a profile. If you're applying for a high level corporate job and you have years of experience doing some low level work in a hotel, your resume likely has a date with the paper shredder or with the garbage can.

As for conversations going off topic, I think they do so because people want to learn about this and related issues. I'm just mentioning that, like Dini said, in many ways things have not changed that much. But then again, pre 1969, a marriage between an African American and an Euro American would have ended with jail or worse.

As for as granting gay marriages possibly opening up the doors to polygamy, well, the African American civil rights movement helped plenty of people who weren't African America, and as a result you have laws against discrimination on the basis of race, religion, nationality, and ethnicity.

So if a movement for African Americans opened up the flood gates for others, then I think there is no way that legalizing gay marriage couldn't potentially open up the gates for polygamy or polyandry.
