Hi Birr, Welcome!!! Are you a girl?

Link - I know you were only being friendly, but I have to admit the moment I read your posting to Perfect Pitch (To whom, by the way, I say welcome!) this quote by Emma from TAS came to my head...

Look at him! Sniffing after her like a mongrel dog!

:lol :rollin :lol

It's good to establish a poster's gender. Just loved that you werer direct about it is all!:D

And, Perfect Pitch, I do know now that you're a boy-type. But I just couldn't waste a good quote. :nono:

Science? Morality? Religion? "I'll take one ticket on the Hellbound Express, please." Eep!:drop

Bard - Religion is the opiate of the masses? A form of control used by a few to gain power over a "weak-minded" greater population? Sure is ample proof that's the case over and over again, many times in history.

Religion, at surface glance, does seem to favor retarding progress in the ways of sociology, politics, and technology.

Look at the Amish here in America. Just because they drive horse-drawn buggies and eschew modern conviences doesn't make them any less enlightened or inherently dumb. They may not be flying rockets to the moon, true, but they're doing what they can to make their way in the world, enjoying it and preserving it, not destroying it.

Technology is good. Look at what it's letting me do right now.

Just because we have the ability to do something doesn't mean we HAVE to do it, though.

I'm all for the advancement of science and human knowledge, but there should also come with it an evolution of morality and the decision other the value of scientific progress.
