Hey I thought that number conversion thing happend already?

Anyway about Cingular. One of my roommates just picked up this service. He was looking at several providers in this area and they all offered 2-year contracts which is standard around DC. One place also wanted a $500 security deposit from him and he has sterling credit so he said forget it! His family is from Queens so when he was last visiting he looked at some contracts and said that they had much better deals. He got a one-year contract with Cingular and the same phone was apparently cheaper than what he saw here and he even got a $50 rebate as he didn't want a camera. He doesn't seemed concerned about the NY number as the Co said he could get a local number here after 6-months. His service costs $40 a month which is also what mine runs. I don't know about roll-over minutes but I thought that there were catches with them. It makes sense as they seem almost too good to be true.
