Phoenyx,

Glad to "meet" you on-line! Do love carefully, my friend, wherever you go, and whatever you do, my only advice on the dating scene...and follow your gut, it's generally never wrong.

Thanks for the question!

I'm probably the easiest of the "new" people because I post so much since I've joined...This blog has been one heck of a distraction for me (I key this the day we buy our new house). I hope I'm frankly not becoming a bore to people.

I wrote a lengthy introduction in my very first post, so I'll skip over some things but I'll try to add some new stuff about me.

Name: Caveman (also not a real name on my driver's license). My real first name is James.
Sex (and otherwise): Red-blooded white, straight, Christian American male (and...gasp!!!...Republican....by heritage anyway). And there my normality ends. I always have had it bad for strong, powerful, aggressive (but compassionate and kind) women. Remind everyone of someone in particular? ;) So I married one. She is the head of the household, and I am her employee (and as of late, her househusband as well--though I am certainly not desparate).
Age: Over forty. I'm probably the oldest user on this blog, another reason I call myself the Caveman here. I consider myself a young man (after all the forties are now the new twenties), but many of you are young enough to be my kids!:eek
I'm also not very tech savvy. X-Box, hah! (of course the last thing I need is another time addiction):)
Where am I: I live in the bluest city of a blue state in the Great Lakes region of the United States.
Profession: Stated above. I'm also in this thing called politics. Serve on the planning commission in my city (I was the token Republican). I might actually run for public office someday, but I don't know if I'm that masochistic (plus I honestly don't want to interfere with her career--or our potential family for that matter). But it is a passion of mine (even though I generally don't talk about it here).
Recent events in my life: Phoenyx, my life is pretty boring, actually. Some dust-ups in my city, but trust me, tame stuff. Thank God!
Loves: Jean/Phoenix, my wife. The two are alarmingly a lot alike in many ways, right down to now the red hair. My icon and sig is in reference to both of them (I was going to have my icon of Jean/Phoenix's gold hand pointing--symbolizing my wife--but both she and Jean are much too polite to do that :-) ). I tend to dig red-headed women in general consequently;) .

I also love passionately this planet, and all the non-humanoid critters who dwell upon them. I have several raccoons that visit my patio late at night, and I do my best to spoil them and the squirrels and birds as well (we currently live next to a natural area park--I'll miss it all when we move).

I love the ocean. My favorite sojourn is to San Diego at least several weeks a year, have fallen in love with an endangered harbor seal colony there. La Jolla Cove. I am a Masters swimmer (took it up only a few years ago--am in better shape now than I was ever was in my teens or twenties), and I love swimming open water races on the ocean and the Great Lakes. Consequently I don't smoke and my body constitution really can't take alcohol.

I love the natural environment. I love movies, come from a family who went to the movies twice a week--saw EVERYTHING! I love life, I love God, and HER glory (to me anyway) reflected in her universe, and the diversity of all of us.

Hates: Wolvercrap. I think he's so old school. What I really hate is the hate and greed brewing forth in my nation, fostered by those who proclaim themselves to be the "true" custodians of the institutions I affiliate with, who instead disgrace and betray utterly these values, with their war-mongering, raping of the planet, and turning their backs on the very people they are supposed to help. (Gee, he doesn't have opinions does he;)

Okay, off my soapbox. I'm actually a bit of a wuss, but I sure have enjoyed reading all of your posts, and may the JGMB prosper further.

Phoenyx, thanks for the intro! Who wants to be next?

Ad Astera Per Aspera. Excelsior!

I'm in love with the little red-headed girl!
