I can give you a summary of the state of the union;

Bush FINALLY, 5 state of the unions later, mentioned Osama bin Laden in the address....get this, TWICE. Apparently since the goal of sending Iraq into a state of disarray has succeeded, he's ready to work on the rest of the terrorists, including the ones that attacked the United States. That's progress.
He gave no details as to what we are doing in Iraq at the moment and if ever the US will be getting out of there.
He pushed his social security reform, while ensuring that for people like him and his peers, it wouldn't be changing, it would just be harder for people down the road.
Bush insisted he had constitutional power in spying on domestic phone lines for international phone calls. He agrees that he could seek judicial sanction, but he doesn't have time for judicial sanctioning.

I believe it was George Carlin that had mentioned that a fetus does not pay taxes, and can not be accounted for in the national census, does not contribute to any workforce, doesn't even have a birthday, hence a social security number, etc..... so, without trying to be insulting, a fetus shouldn't be considered an individual because of those factors. If you want to boil it down to facts. A human fetus is a human in the making, but is not yet a human.

I don't think anyone was exactly shocked at Alito's confirmation. Party lines being what they are these days, bipartisanship has become an antiquated event.

....just as an FYI...does anyone else find it odd that the US hasn't been given any terrorist warning code color since the elections of 2004? It seems as though its a concept that was really only vital to Bush's first official election.
