National Geographic recently did a really interesting program called In the Womb.

Quote:
Before it takes its first breath, a human baby has been through an incredible transformation...

From a single cell to a complex, self-sustaining organism. With ground-breaking photography, computer graphics, and 4-D imaging, In the Womb reveals this amazing process as the first heart cells begin to beat, the nerve cells flicker to life, and the senses develop.

Featuring pioneering medical imaging technology, called 4-D ultrasound, which shows the fetus as it sucks its thumb, blinks, yawns, smiles, and moves in real time inside the womb, In the Womb also includes stunning images from in-utero surgery as a doctor inserts a fetoscope through the mother's womb and into the fetus to correct a congenital defect.

There is a link to a small video preview and a photo gallery.

I believe that the program airs again tomorrow (Sunday) at 8:00pm.
