Hi Perdid...that's a very sad letter, but it's hard to argue with. As a reader of Marvel for over fifty years, I feel pretty much that both the characters and the writers/editors, except for Peter David, have been replaced by the cast of "Night of the Living Dead". But what do I know...?
As for writers--these are classics, but you might try Theodore Sturgeon, who's still in print, Edgar Pangborn, who pretty much isn't but worth searching out, and Spider Robinson, who's very much alive and kicking. If you love Jean, and what the X-Men *should* be, all three are worth your while.
