Funny how he twists things around. Yes, verisimilitude is the base of every narrative that intends to be taken seriously. But you can't really have verisimilitude without continuity! I mean, not in this universe or, at least, not to our limited time-space-sequence-of-events-constricted little minds.

If they're writing to some other alien species... Well, maybe continuity is indeed 'crap' (pardon my French), but to us, mere Homo sapiens, continuity is essential.
