Thanks for the link. It was an interesting 10 pages previews. The weird thing is that I like Grummett art better in B/W.

Thanks for the link Josh. I can't say that I am completely bowled over but I have been saying loudly and repeatedly that I'm not buyin unless somebody
proves that Jean is in the issue. Well, here she is, no doubt about it, so I'll be buying this title.

Is the page with the Phoenix effect working yet? (it isn't for me...) If someone saved it, can you post it for us? Thanks.
Btw, from the other preview pages I've seen, I'm loving the costumes--this is what the X-Men should look like, IMO. |

The "Watcher World Premier: X-Men Forever #1" link in the first link that I posted doesn't work.
But those 10 pages can be seen in the video on that page. The second link I posted is to 10 additional pages (well most of them are different from the ones in the video) so altogether we've seen most of the first issue. Jean manifests the Phoenix effect while fighting Fabian Cortez. Perhaps him amping her powers is what causes her to become Phoenix again in this continuity. The cast of X-Men Forever seems to be the cast of X-Men Animated Series plus Kitty and Nightcrawler. |

I made screen caps....
These two are from the same page. The second one is just more close up...
On this last page, Jean may or may not be freaking out with her Phoenix powers while in Xavier's office....

Weeeell, to my fellow Jott compatriots:
I understand the Jean/Logan relationship. They are both passionate (and both immortal?!?!?!?!). There's that bond they have that can't be ignored. Don't misunderstand me, I am NOT, to say to least, a Wolverine fan. That being said, if you must talk about Scott and Jean, you cannot do so w/o talking about Jean/Logan. It's definitely a love triangle. And to my fellow Jott fans...there are definitely "J-Lo" In the 616 universe, unfortunately, the Scott/Jean relationship has been quite sullied lately. Perhaps indignation towards Marvel is properly appropriate. But, if Scott ever has the opportunity to get Jean back (her being "alive" for awhile there perhaps a variable factor here and a big if), he's going to need to work hard to get her back in his life, and she has good reason to say, "buzz off", aside from other obligations being an avatar of the Phoenix Force, and avenging the mess of her family's demise may require of her. But, if we're dealing with an "alt" world here, Jott fans may you possibly take heart. Look at the "Ultimate Universe". There right off the bat, thanks to popular demand and seeing the buzz of X-Men through the decades, Marvel in the very first issues of Ultimate X-Men paired up Jean and Wolverine. In the end, Wolverine lost Jean, perhaps not entirely on his own volition, but he blew it between the two being an item. There's a lot of room for this to happen again. Or maybe it won't? Time will tell. If there's going to be a Jean/Scott relationship, Scott has now some serious work to do, whether Wolverine "buys the farm" (please!) or not. Caveman
I'm in love with the little red-headed girl!

Well, Caveman, I am a very big fan of Wolverine. And I can definitely understand the attraction for the Jean/Logan pairing. I am a fan of it myself just not
a long-term fan nor as big a fan of it as I am of the Jott relationship. So, I will very likely be nice.
On that note, however, I agree that Scott needs to work VERY hard to gain Jean back as a lover, companion, confidante, best friend and wife all rolled into one, again. I love Scott but that does not mean (in fact, truthfully, I think it is the opposite making me MORE aware of) I am in any way unaware of his failings, even when I was pushing for them to get back together, right away. |

Gah! Not again! I have to admit I double posted, again, since the number of posts attributed to me seem to have remained the same on this and the previous
one. My apologies, once more. ><;

Well, I'm going to sorta play devil's advocate on this one, being neither a "Jott" or "J-Lo" fan. However, if I was forced to
choose between the two, I'd have to go with "J-Lo" for various reasons. Most of it stemming from my belief that Scott is really, really bad for
Jean's character development. Whereas Logan tends to bring out her independent streak, and some of the other suppressed tendencies in her personality that
I like. When she's chained to Cyke(< & yes, that's how I see it), she seems weaker to me and more like a second fiddle, when she's anything
but. I feel she's marginalized when paired with him romantically, her growth becoming stifled once again and eventually suffocating. In all honesty, while
I like both Logan and Scott well enough, neither have ever been personal favorites and they never will be.
Jean returning to the freedom of single-life would be my flavor of choice. As I've said before, her taking a test run with some of the other X-boys would be far more preferable to me. A hot-n-heavy physical relationship with the spicy Remy, a second chance at romance with the heavenly Warren, or a deep connection with the spiritual Kurt. Any of those would be ideal to me, so much fresher and exciting, being they're unexpected. And I've also always had this fascination with her hookin' up with some of the Marvel heroes outside of the X-Men. A private dinner date with Tony Stark, though he'd NEVER get any from her, or some wild times with Johnny Storm would be fun. But Captain America, the Steve Rogers version, now THAT one is special to me! There's something about their getting together that has always intrigued me, the combination of his honor and her fiery spirit, it's just so epic. There would be a lot of facets to explore with their pairing, so I could see you getting some serious mileage out of it and it lasting indefinitely. He's a class act and so is she, a man's man and a whole lot of woman... it has the potential to be explosive! Handled right, I think they could become Marvel's premiere couple. But back OT, like C-man, can't say that I'm sorry Logan's stay in Forever will be short-lived. Even happier that Scott won't seemingly be included in the mix for long either, judging by his absence from the early solicits. Now that I think about it, an X-book without Cyclops OR Wolverine is like a dream come true for me. It's just too bad it's not taking place in current 616 continuity, but at this point we'll take what we can get. Beggars can't be choosers after all. |

*WET BLANKET WARNING IN EFFECT!*
Um, do I really need to mention to any fan of a deceased character that it ain't too cool to wish other characters' death? As Niecy Nash (from Clean House) would say, "for shame!" Thanks for the splash pages! I am so looking forward to this. I think it is so uncool that they would put them together, just to off them. I disagree with you Cave; I read that union in ultimate, and it was uber lame. They were alternate people with alternate characteristics. And really, what is the purpose of all these alternate universes if they stick so closely to the status quo? And as Jean fans, a cc wolvie & jean coupling would be awesome - because when cc writes Wolvie he writes him with wisdom, and gentleness, and nobility to balance out his raving feral traits. But I guess you can't have sabes and wolvie on the same team. And Jean just made a pretty amazing revelation to herself - if she has truly fallen in love with Wolvie and he dies, then what is going to happen to her? Is this how she gets all Phoenixy again, because she is dealing with those darker emotions? What I like about the pages so far is that it is very reminiscent of the second generation's first missions: chaotic and possibly dangerous. Much like then, all these people are coming from different teams and different perspectives and trying to work together. I love the sense that friction is building between the x-factor, x-calibur, and uncanny members; really just the uncanny members by themselves had friction issues, let alone adding everyone else to the mix. thx! dini

Honestly, I've never been a Scott and Jean fan. Especially as they got older. It always seemed like Scott held her back in one way or another. ALWAYS!
She has such a fiery and passionate personality, which contradicts with Scott's boring, predictable behavior. IN my eyes there just not a good match
anymore, although I do understand why other fans like them as a couple. I always wanted Jean to be with Wolverine. They bring out the best in each other.
He's more sentimental, comes of as more caring and he also digs deep. I've never seen Scott get sentimental unless Jean was about to die. I could be
wrong, it could be my bias talking, but that just an opinion. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that feels that way.
Handled right, I think they could become Marvel's premiere couple.Psi, that is such a good idea as well. Although I would love for her to be with Wolvie, i do understand the hesitation because of his playboy ways. I especially like the idea of her and Cap, but he reminds me of cyclops on some levels. But her exploring will be such a great idea, it will help bring a realistic view of the marvel community. There are times when people step out of their comfort zone and explore, you really don't see much of that in the marvel world. An intertwining of teams will be great. I can see Jean joining Cap on some of his adventures and vice versa. We all can dream can't we? ozzie |
