jean makes a cameo in this issue. when emma frost is incapacitated by lady mastermind, jean appears to her from what i assume to be the white hot room as a hazy, naked spirit and frees her from lady m's influence. oh, and maddie ends up escaping with what she wanted from logan: a box containing a lock of jean's hair.

oh, sorry, i should have mentioned they're not my scans. a friend of mine sent them to me earlier today before i bought my issue because i was eager to see jean. he got them from one of those sites that scans comics (i know, some people think that's shady). i just wanted to share it. please don't credit me. thanks.

Yeah Jean FINALLY makes an appearance after what like 5-6 years now? I couldnt beleive it. I dont think that was the White Hot Room though. I think it was the astral plane bc Lady Mastermind wouldnt be able to trap her in the WHR

Oh, man! Am I SO glad I came on, today. I just bought that issue, today and I was SO confused about that scene. I thought it was Lady Mastermind posing as Maddie! But, now, those scenes make a TON more sense. Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou..... *takes deep breath*

Nice scene - but I wish to god Land wasn't drawing it. I really can't stand his artwork now, it's all so flat (excluding the massive breasts!) & lifeless.

Nice to see Jean in control & it made me miss Jean/Emma interactions - sigh.

I don't think Emma is going to be given the Phoenix. Even the X office know that would be a seriously stupid thing to do.

My big concern is that this arc is supposed to finish next issue, but there are loads of plots to tie up: Maddie, Betsy (who will no doubt be shoved back into her boring ninja body) & Jean. Either everything is going to left in the air or it's going to be rushed like hell.

Yeah, it certainly looks like the Phoenix is leaving Jeans fingertips to go to Emma, and Jean is telling her to prepare.

With that said, the panel really does leave a lot to interpretation. I thought the whole concept of the Phoenix force jumping from Emma to the cuckoos was really pretty silly in endsong and warsong. I had really hoped that those steps wouldn't be repeated elsewhere.

BUT, getting that philosophical interpretation out of the way, I will say that this is totally hot and I can't express enough how happy I am to see Jean smiling on the glossy pages with the flaming raptor pokin' it's head out. I love it even more that isn't some sort of flashback.

What do you guys think of the idea that Jean seems to be able to have visitors now? Do you think she's been watching the X-Men this whole time? The Love/Hate relationship she has with Emma is kinda interesting, do you think there's a deeper history there from before the Hellfire Club introduction in Uncanny?

What an awesome scene loving the Jean cameo. Now I don't think Jean is giving the Phoenix to Emma, Endsong showed she's just a shell and unable to contain much less control the Phoenix Force Jean is just burning through all that "psychic chaff" (whatever that stuff is) and giving Emma the psychic 411 on the "Red Queen"

Reread the original Phoenix run. Often whenever Jean used her telepathy or her telekinesis, it manifested as fiery claws or whatever, so it ALWAYS projected from her when she used her powers. That didn't mean it was leaving her. So in short, Emma is NOT getting the Phoenix at all. Jean was removing the damage done to Emma's mind and, as the others said, giving her the 411 on the Red Queen/Madelyne Pryor. As for Psylocke, her Asian body is no more a ninja body than her British body. Martial arts have nothing to do with one's race. And I don't think she'll go back to her Asian body, mainly because they put her in British body because they wanted to make her telepathic again.

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but that's not whats happening at all. Jean has pulled Emma into the White Hot Room to break Lady Mastermind's hold over her. She's using the Phoenix Force to purge whatever crap Lady M has put in her brain - simple! She was telling Emma to "prepare" for a bit of cleansing & to "prepare" to give Lady M a good slapping.

Marvel are not going to give the Phoenix to Emma. Yes, she's the poster girl at the moment, but they wouldn't do it.
