As many of you know, I am really into the visual aspects of a character. The look is just as important to me as the character, otherwise I would be reading a novel and not a comic. Anyway, I was wondering what you guys wanted Jean to wear when she comes back. Pick 3 looks that you would like to see her in, 1 being the most important look.. It can be an older costume, an updated costume, or something completely new. Just for fun. You don't have to post any pics, but if you have any that would be a plus.. Plus, include any changes you want to make to her on any level. No one is right here; we all love Jean and one's opinion isn't better than any one else.... I don't have any pics, but I will start with my opinion:
1) The Green/gold/black Phoenix costume will always be her best known look, and will always be my personal favorite. I put it up there with Spiderman's costume as being Iconic. I would like for the costume to have some lining and piping to give it depth. The black upper part of the costume would be outline in gold piping. the high collar would have a V shape and outlined with gold piping too. The gloves and boots would be a bright gold that illuminates with her fire effect and zip up and have creases as opposed to being so tight that they look like part of her skin. Her boots would have high heels like the original Cockrum design. The sash would be lowered to hang on her hips toshow off her tiny waist. Phoenix clasp on sash would be on her right side; the head of the phoenix symbol would face to Jean's right aswell. A seam coming down the breast area all the way down the body suit would make the suit look more 3 dimensional. I also think it might look cook to have the gloves and boots black with gold piping. The sash could also be black with the gold phoenix clasp.
2) New X-men/X-factor forever hybrid: Starting from the bottom and working my way up: The New X-men boots would have a comfortable 3-4 inch wedged heel, in gunmetal grey leather. The X's on the boots are also gunmetal grey but outlined in gold piping. The pants are in longer leather but a satin sheen green neoprene with gold piping on the out seams of the boot. She would have have a black astoning belt with sold piping and the buckle with be the standard astonishing gold and red x-symbol belt buckle. The top is an X-factor Forever inspired top. The top is also green instead of yellow, and the parts of the the top that out line the x are a gunmetal grey. The top is outline in gold piping. She wears a simple necklace with a smal Phoenix syble. She will also have gunmetal new-xmen gloves again with the X on top of the hand outline in Gold. She wears her now iconic New X-men leather trench coat with the X- on the coat outline in gold piping and the 3 stripes on the sleeves in gold.. the coat now sports on the Phoenix symbol on the back of the coat in the center of X on her back. Hair is long and modern. The new Jean Grey is as tall as Emma Frost. Her height as Phoenix is variable, but I always imagined to be tall, especially since she was a model, although not as tall as Storm.. I am thinking maybe 5'9 ish. For those of you that may disagree, In panels where Jean is with emma and Psylocke, she is always drawn to be thier equal in height. 5'6 isn't short buy any means, but I personally see her as a little taller, definately taller than Rogue. Just look at X-men Evolution.
3) X-factor costume: The costume would be a metallic deep red, but all the yellow parts would now be a gunmetal grey leather material outline in gold piping. She would have pirate high heeled boots in black with gold piping and a zipper that zips up in the front of the body suit. No belt. She can lower the Zipper to show some cleavage for a sexier look. No mask. The gloves would also be Gunmatel grey leather with gold piping. Bright green eyes and fiery red hair.
Power Level: Equal to Thor as a telekinetic. TP is equal to Xavior, if not more powerful. With her new height (5'9" or 5' 10") she works on the physical aspects of her body and becomes more physical in her fighting style and stronger. Trained by Cap America. Just as passionate as always, but still nurturing. When she needs to become a fighter, she will kick your A$$ with or without her powers. She will be the crush of many, but wont really give anyone the time of day for a while. She becomes a member of the Avengers and focuses her energy on world problems and not just X-men. She reconnects with non x-men characters like Misty Knight. Maybe becomes romantically involved with Thor, or Cap America at some point. She will become a central character due to her telepathic powers. I would also love to see a reconnection with Storm, Lorna, Rachel and Nate Grey.
One idea that I had is to disperse the power of the Phoenix among the Grey Clan Mutants. Jean would be the primary as the White Phoenix of the crown, with the firey phoenix. Son Nate Grey/X-man would now get a portion of the Phoenix which would manist as a blue raptor, Rachel would get a portion to manifest as a red raptor, Hope can go Dark Phoenix and a dark side of the power which would comply with Bishops fears, and if Maddie comes back she could also absorb a portion of the power and have a green raptor.. I think I have been reading too much Green lantern, but the idea would prevent anyone from having too much power. If DC can have differnt versions of Superman, all related, I don't see why Jean can't do the same.
